Makalu, one of the demanding and popular trekking destinations of our country is the fifth highest mountain of the world. Mt. Makalu Base Camp trek is designed for those trekkers and mountaineers who wish to trek on the Himalayas of our country and want to explore the unique culture and lifestyle of people living in this region since many years.

Makalu Base Camp trek offers the visitors with an opportunity to view some of the highest mountain ranges of the world such as Everest (Highest mountain of the world), Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Amadablam, Pumroi, Manaslu and other many beautiful mountain ranges of the world. One can also do the sightseeing of the unique culture and lifestyle of people living in this region since many years. One of the major attractions of this journey is the opportunity to see a wide variety of flora and fauna found only in the Himalayan region of our country. Makalu Base Camp trek is a special package and this journey takes the visitors to some of the most famous places of Makalu region which includes Makalu Barun National Park, sightseeing of Sherpa and Magar settlements, Makalu Base Camp and other many famous places of Makalu region.

Makalu Base Camp trek starts with the sightseeing of the capital city of our country, Kathmandu. We will then take a scenic flight to Tumlingtar and then start our trek and trek via Arun valley which is the deepest valley of the world. Trekking via Sedua will take us to one of the famous passes of our country i.e. Shipton pass. Trekking ahead will take us to the base camp of Mt. Makalu and then we will enjoy the sightseeing of Himalayan ranges. After the sightseeing, we will start to descend and reach Tumlingtar from where we will come back to Kathmandu and then end our trip.

 

Outline Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathmandu arrival Day. transfer form International airport to hotel and free day.
Day 2 : City Sight seeing, Swayambunath,Bauddhanath, Pashupatinath,Durbarsquare etc.

Day 3 : Kathmandu to Tumlingar flight and trek to Khandbari.3 to 4 hrs.(1020m)

Day 4 : Khandbari   to  Chichila. 5 to 6 hrs.(1840m)

Day 5 : Chilchila  to  Num.5 to 6 hrs.(1500m)

Day 6 : Num  to  Sedua.5 hrs. (1540m)

Day 7 : Sedua   to  Tashigaon.4 to 5 hrs.(2170m)

Day 8 : Tashigaon  to Khongma.5 to 6 hrs.(3560m)

Day 9 : Khongma   to  Mumbuk.6 to 7 hrs.(3550m)

Day 10 : Mumbuk to Yangle Kharka.4 to 5 hrs.(3600m)

Day 11 : Yangle Kharka   to  Merek.4 to 5 hrs.(4570m)

Day 12 : Merek  to  Shersong. 2 hrs.(4660mt)

Day 13 : Shersong: Day trip to Makalu Base camp.

Day 14 : Shersong  to Yangle Kharka. 4 to 5 hrs.(3600m)

Day 15 : Yangle Kharka  to  Mumbuk.4 hrs..(3550m)

Day 16 : Mumbuk to  Khongma.5 to 6 hrs.(3560m)

Day 17 : Khongma to Tashigaon.3 to 4 hrs.(2170m)

Day 18 : Tashigaon  to  Num.6 to 7 hrs.(1500m)

Day 19 : Num   to  Chichila.5 to 6 hrs.(1840m)

Day 20 : Chilchila to Mani Bhanjyang 5 to 6  hrs.(1110m)

Day 21 : Mani Bhanjyang  to  Tumlingtar. 3 to 4 hrs.

Day 22: Tumlingtar to Kathmandu fly.

Day 23. Free day and very good opportunity fly Everest flight early morning and afternoon shoping.

Day 24. Departure to International airport of Kathmandu back home.
