Kanchanjanga Base Camp & Selele Pass Trekking through one of the challenging and risky trekking trails of our country is a lifetime dream to all the trekkers and adventure lovers of the world. Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek is one of the most challenging and risky trekking trails of our country and one should need good physical stamina with proper climbing experience to reach to the heart of this mighty mountain. Trekking in the Kanchenjunga region is restricted and one should need a special permit to trek in this area.

Starting from the sightseeing of some of the highest mountain ranges to getting an opportunity to explore the unique lifestyle and culture of people living in this region, Kanchenjunga region has many more to offer to its visitors. One can do the sightseeing of some of the highest mountain ranges of our country such as Everest, Annapurna, Makalu, Manaslu, Lhotse, Dhaulagiri and other many beautiful mountain ranges of our country. Visitors will also explore the unique lifestyle and culture of people who are living in this region for many years. One of the major attractions of this journey is the closer and crystal-clear view that a visitor can get from the base camp of the world’s third highest mountain.

The journey to the base camp of the 3rd highest mountain of the world starts with a short flight to Suketar from Kathmandu. We will then trek through dense rhododendron and oak forests to reach Lamile Bhanjyang. Trekking through Torotan, Tseram, Ramche will lead us to Mirgin-La which offers the spectacular views of snowcapped mountains. Trekking ahead for a short duration will take us to the final destination of our trip, The Kanchenjunga Base Camp. We will then trek ahead and reach to Selele Pass which is a challenging and slippery trekking trail of our journey. Crossing this pass will be a bit challenging as trekkers should trek through the icy and risky trekking trails. One can do the sightseeing of unique and dramatic landscapes along with some of the highest mountain ranges of the world through the base camp of this beautiful mountain.

 

Outline Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathmandu arrival Day. transfer form International airport to hotel and free day.

Day 2 : City Sight seeing, Swayambunath,Bauddhanath, Pashupatinath,Durbarsquare etc.

Day 3 : Kathmandu  to Biratnagar fly.

Day 4 : Biratnagar to Suketar Taplejung flight trek to Mitlung Bazar.4 to 5 hrs(880m)

Day 5 : Mitlung Baszar to Chiruwa. 5 to 6hrs.(1190m)

Day 6 : Chiruwa  to  Sakathum.5 to 6 hrs (1640m)

Day 7 : Sakathum   to  Amjilasa.5 to 6 hrs.(2490m)

Day 8 : Amjilasa    to Gyabla.4 to 5 hrs.(2730m)

Day 9 : Gyabla   to  Gunsa. 6 to 7 hrs.(3410m)

Day 10 : Gunsa Acclimatisation Day.

Day 11 : Gunsa  to Khambachen.5 to 6 hrs.(4150m)

Day 12 : Khambachen  to Lhonak.4 to 5 hrs.(4790m)

Day 13 : Lhonak  to  Pang Pema.3 to 4 hrs.(5140m)

Day 14 : Pang Pema  to  Khambachen. 6 to 7 hrs.(4150m)

Day 15 : Khambachen to Gunsa.4hrs.(3410m)

Day 16 : Gunsa  to Selele Base camp.5 to 6 hrs.(5280m)

Day 17 : Selele Base Camp to  Chairam.6 to 7 hrs.(3870m)

Day 18 : Chairam to Amji Khola.6 hrs.(2340m)

Day 19 : Amjikhola to Yamphudin.4 to 5 hrs.(1690m)

Day 20 : Yamphudin to Mamanke.4 to 5 hrs.(1810m)

Day 21: Mamanke   to  Khesewa.6 to 7 hrs.(1960m)

Day 22 : Khesewa    to  Lalikharka. 6 to 7 hrs.(2230m)

Day 23: Lalikharka to Taplejung,Suketar airport. 4 to 5 hrs.(2400m)

Day 24: Suketar to Biratnagar and same day fly to Kathmandu.

Day 25: Free day in Kathmandu. ( today is great opportunity if you are going to fly Everest flights early morning to view Mt.Everest)

Day 26. Departure to International airport Kathmandu back home.

Cost Include

  • Two nights standard accommodation in 2/3/4/5 star category hotel in Kathmandu located tourist center, or up to you.
  • Meals on full board (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trekking
  • Local fresh fruits like orange, apple, banana and grape etc.
  • All accommodations during the trek.
  • Your destination map.
  • Both ways domestic Flights with airport tax.
  • An experienced Government licensed holder Climbing guide and porter to carry your luggage during the trek.
  • Permit
  • Food, drinks, accommodation, insurance, salary, equipment’s, transportation, local tax for Guide and porter
  • Group medical supplies (first aid kit will be available).
  • If you need we will provide you sleeping bag, down jackets, Duffle bag and, if necessary etc.
  • All necessary Government paper works and national park entry permits and TIMS Card etc.
  • Travel & Rescue arrangement.
