Upper Mustang is a Mystic Land in the rain shadow of Nepal and least known kingdoms is perhaps the last enclave of pristine Tibetan culture. Forbidden and isolated from the rest of the world it was able to evolve its own distinctive culture and tradition which are so rich and unique.  This trek offers to experience and see the hidden world of Buddhist Kingdom in Nepal.  The route of the Upper Mustang Trek takes us to the capital of Upper Mustang called Lo Mustang which is a medieval town surrounded by a huge town wall. Upper mustang reflects the lifestyle of the people living in the mountainous region. People being depended on small routes and on donkeys for carrying goods. Along the paths we can see small groups of women spinning wools and gossiping. In Lo Mustang you can even find the palace of King and if the King is at home you can even pay him a visit. The upper mustang consists of two distinct regions; the southern part and the northern part and the languages, culture and traditions of this regions reflects Tibetan culture. The whole area has an isolated and mystical feel to it, enchanting and inspiring to this region. This region is full of Nepal’s oldest Buddhist monasteries, ancient and isolated with quaint white houses. Untouched by the modern civilization, life in mustang goes on as it has for centuries in unhurried pace. Upper Mustang trek has always been fascinating because of its past history and the culture and lifestyle of the local people residing. Trekking through it takes about 17-18 days and the trekking begins from Jomsom where it can be reached by a flight from Kathmandu or from Pokhara. The trek passes through lots of beautiful and scenic views , rough and tough trails, mystic peaks and lakes and so on and so forth. Getting to know the lifestyle of People of Mustang and their culture is a plus point for the trekkers.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Day transfer to your hotel and free day.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing: Kathmandu Durbarsquare,Pashupatinath,Bauddhanath and Swayambunath.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus.6 to 7 hrs drive.

Day 04: Pokhara to Jomsom fly and 25minutes and walk to Kakbeni(2800m) 4 hrs.

Day 05: Kakbeni   to  Chele(3100m) 5 to 6 hrs.

Day 06: Chele  to Geling(3570m) 6 to 7 hrs.

Day 07: Geling  to Charang(3560m) 6 to 7 hrs.

Day 08: Charang  to Lo Manthang(3840m) 4 to 5 hrs.

Day 09: Lo Manthang- Exploring the  Lomanthang.

Day 10: Lo Manthang  to  Drakmar(3810m) 6hrs.

Day 11: Drakmar   to  Syangbochen(3780m) 5 to 6 hrs.

Day 12: Syangbochen   to  Chhuksang(3000m) 6 to 7 hrs.

Day 13: Chuksang   to  Jomsom(2720m)7hrs.

Day 14: Jomsom early morning light to Pokhara and full day in Pokhara side trip around Pokhara after Lunch.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus 6 to 7 hrs.

Day 16: free Day in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Final Departure day.
