Among the many pathways to access the Everest Base Camp, the Jiri Everest Base Camp trek is relatively easier. This was the very path chosen by great mountaineers like Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa to climb the Mount Everest. Though this trail is easier, it is longer and requires good physique and proper acclimatization with the mountainous climate and conditions. The trek provides the passage through trails containing forests, rare birds and animals, lush valleys through the alpine forests, glacial rivers, and experiencing the warm hospitality of ethnic people and spectacular views of the world’s tallest mountain, the Everest.

The trek requires the passage through the beautiful village Jiri which can be reached via Kathmandu. Further drive can be taken to Bhandar and bungee jumping in the Bhote Koshi can also be experienced. A descend from Jiri brings Dokharpa, Baranda and ascend form here brings the Surma Khola, Likhu Khola Vallet, Kenja, Chimbu and finally Sete. This is accompanied by awesome views of the Ganesh, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa mountains can be seen on the way. An uphill trek from Sete takes trekkers through Lamjura La, Dagchu, Goyern offering spectacular views of surrounding green mountains. Further descend brings Tragdobuk and then Junbesi.

The next step is to trek through Salung, Ringmo Khola, Nunthala, Bupsa and a walk through the forested stretch to Surke which offers the magnificent views of the Khari La pass of Gyachung Kang and Khumbila mountains among others. A trek to Phakding via Chaurikharka and Chhiplung brings Namche Bazaar. From here further trek is done towards Tengboche via some ups and downs and views of the Ama-Dablam, Nuptse and Everest. Further ascend to Duglha is accompanied by majestic views of Mt. Pumori, Chola Lake, Mt. Nuptse, Cholatse and Thamsekru. Duglha to Lobuche and Lobuche to Gorak Shep is the final trek before reaching Everest Base Camp. In Gorakshep trekkers are surrounded all over by the ice that makes up the Mount Everest. A climb from here brings the famous Everest Base Camp from where, the Mount Everest can be seen and marveled upon closely.
